Social Rides

A new type of social ride...

Picture
Many groups and clubs offer group rides. But some things often aren't ideal...
  • Very big groups (inconvenience to other road users)
  • Mid ride coffee stops (Don't get us wrong we love a good coffee... but it should be at the end of your training ride!)
  • Specific start times (and locations) that might not be convenient to busy athletes
  • Limited distance options that might not fit with individuals training plan distances

How Greenlightpt social rides work...

  • A 'Suggested' weekend route is published each week (with GPS route and directions!)
  • Use all of this route, part of it, or multiple laps of it to make up your weekend ride
  • You'll be able to ride at your own pace and complete your own distance BUT....
  • You'll bump into all your GreenlightPT buddies on the way around! (Maybe wear your GreenlightPT kit!?)
  • Cycle it by yourself at your own pace or arrange to go around with training partners and friends
  • Each route will have a suggested coffee stop towards the end of the route
  • Each route will also have a suggested 'Strava Segment' if you fancy having a blast and being a bit competitive

Some important small print...
  • Please note these are NOT official GreenlightPT training sessions and you'll be riding entirely at your own risk!
  • Click HERE to read an excellent article on group riding from British Cycling.
  • We'd recommend cycling in groups of 2-4.
  • Always wear a helmet, don't jump lights, don't ride more than 2 abreast, ride safely and just generally don't be an idiot...!
  • Consider getting yourself some personal insurance for your training (BTF and British Cycling memberships cover this)
  • Smile and wave... its nice!
