2019 Special Awards...
🏅Eirwen T - SuperMum turned Athlete 🏅
This year Eirwen has gone from being a parent who dropped off Bronwyn at training... to one of the most regular run squadders! She has made an incredible transformation and has even been racing the cross country races this winter 💪
🏅Jason L - Tasting Tarmac 🏅
We had a couple of nasty bike crashes in races this year, but Jason just edges the win from Andy G. Jason spent a cool 44 seconds on his bike at Box End Relays before 'that' roundabout 🙈
🏅David D - Hero of Hero Laps 🏅
Coaches every session:
"Run a nice even pace through the reps"
David D:
Drops a random 1:12 400m on rep 9 of 14 😅
🏅Dennis V - Are you still wearing a trisuit? 🏅
A close race between Dennis and Ruth in the worst sunburn of 2019 category but Big Den takes the win (he has more surface area 😅)
(please can nobody win this next year!)
🏅Jack H - Abacus Award 🏅
He lost count on a 75m rep. Enough said.
🏅Julie P - lastminute.com 🏅
Guess who was last to arrive to every training session on camp, is frequently late to Thursday swim squad, and received THREE nominations for messiest room in Lazarote?! 😂

🖐️Toe Tickler
Awarded to the person most consistently caught drafting at swim squad 🤦The only person who can turn 5 seconds into 2 seconds and the only person who notices when Kerry has cut her toe nails... Jason Lee
🚔Pull Buoy Police
"Coach *insert name* is kicking with their pull buoy"
Always grassing up her lane buddies... Kerry Large 😂
🙈Mr Mechanical
The only person who has ever ARRIVED at a race with a flat tyre. Fair to say Ciaran Dorrity has had some 'eventful' races this year 😂
😶Mr Boring
Okay so we want you to pace it evenly... but Peter Murphy has scored Elite Level pacing on the CSS test SIX TIMES 😂
Come on Pete... actually go for it just one time!!!
👀Test Dodger
Okay so there is a few who we could shout out here.
But... if Jamie Holmes isn't scheduled to work on CSS night he always seems to get called in. Weird huh.
👶Cutest GreenlightPT Baby
Haha no I wouldn't dare🙈 But congrats to all our Greenlighters who have had small people this year. You clearly aren't training hard enough.

2017 Special Awards…
Class Clown/Prank Gone Wrong: Alan and sidekick Holly
For always keeping training fun... and occasionally taking it to far.
True story from last month...
For those of you that don't know, Alan has a cup of tea in his drinks bottle at our 6am swim sessions.
At the end of a swim session last month Alan and Holly discovered Alex K had left her drinks bottle at the end of the lane.
So obviously Alan decides it'll be hilarious to empty her bottle out and fill it with cold tea.
30 seconds later... random female member of the public... swimming in the pool looks up at Alan... and asks for her drink back 🙈🙈🙈
Awkwaaaaaaaaaaaaaard 😂
Best Beard: Lee Hodge
Some valiant efforts from Coaches Adam and Jon, a questionably patchy effort from Steve G, but Lee H takes the win...!
When this beard is shaved off we are expecting at least 30 second PB on the 400m time trial! 💪💪💪
Most Random/weird/comedy Injury: Lauren Keeler
Some pretty serious competition for this award...! We have had gardening injuries and falling off turbo trainers but I think Lauren is a worthy winner.
After taking a wrong turn and getting lost on her run, Lauren decided the best way to get back on route was to climb over the barbed wire fence.
You can guess the rest. 🙈🙈🙈
King of Strava: Gaju
Okay so we've never actually met Gaju. But squad member Matt did while living out in India...!
Gaju subsequently joined our Strava Group... and if you ever log on to see who tops the GreenlightPT Strava leaderboard each week... its Gaju!
(Often with 30+ hours)
He is frequently on 6 hours logged before our Monday 6am club has even started 😂😂😂
Matt - send us his address and we'll send him out a GreenlightPT cycle jersey for those 4 hour commutes 👌

2016 Special Awards
Special Awards…
Last Man Standing Award: Matt T
Awarded for serious commitment to GreenlightPT night outs and drinking both in the UK and Abroad.
Not only was Matt one of the last people standing at last year’s awards he was also played a key part in pushing for excellent drinking performance while the team was out in Mexico!
(Although he did put in a questionable performance last night – especially considering we have worked on pacing all season! 💤)
Funny But True Award: Ciaran D
When Ciaran finally upgraded from his 1990’s Hawaiian swim shorts (after much bullying) he was so much faster he had to be moved up 2 lanes 🙈
Act of Kindness Award: Bronwyn T
Way before Alistair Brownlee helped Jonny over the finish line Bronwyn started the trend at Box End Relays! Anyway Cathy tells it better than I do…
I'd enjoyed the swim, struggled on the windy bike and conked out on the run. Too much too soon after having Toby and not having been able to do enough training. Plus, it was effing hot. But I was desperate to give it a go. Anyway, she'd already won a medal but saw me struggling and saw fit to come and encourage me home by running/walking with me. Bronwyn is a wonderful athlete and a very wonderful human being. 💚
Adversity through injury Award: Tracy N and Paul W
Both have been through tough injuries which required surgery and were unable to run/bike but have focused on swimming and have seen excellent improvements! Great job on keeping motivated and committed guys! An excellent example of making the best of a bad situation! 💪
Class Clown: Holly F
The comedy levels on Thursday night swim squad have stepped up this year. Alan H won this last year, but he has actually upped his swim game and moved up to lane 3… resulting in not enough rest between reps to deliver his jokes. But Holly has stepped up to the plate and frequently has the rest of the lane (and coaches) in stiches. She has also moved up the ranks and does a great job of leading lane 2! Now if only she’d stop wearing those crocs 😂
